Gov. Walz Declares "Girls on the Run Weekend" In Minnesota

We're proud to announce a major milestone: Governor Tim Walz has officially declared May 31 - June 1, 2025 as "Girls on the Run Weekend" across the state of Minnesota! This historic proclamation recognizes the powerful impact Girls on the Run has on thousands of girls each year, helping them build confidence, resilience, and lifelong skills.

Girls on the Run Weekend includes three community celebrations:

๐ŸŽ‰May 31 -- Minnesota State Fairgrounds

๐ŸŒŸJune 1 -- Rochester (St. Mary's University)

๐Ÿ…June 1 -- Duluth (Leif Erikson Park)

Whereas: Because of Girls on the Run Minnesota, thousands of Minnesota girls have a supportive, joyful space in which they can gain confidence, build new relationships, and move their bodies; and ...

Whereas: Watching the pride, accomplishment, resilience, and courage as girls cross the finish line serves as a powerful representation of what's possible when girls are empowered to take care of their bodies, minds and friendships; and ...

Whereas: Minnesota acknowledges the significant and lasting influence that Girls on the Run Minnesota has had on the lives of over 35,000 girls in Minnesota, their families, and communities since 2012, and encourages the continued growth and success of the program in years to come...
