Join us Sunday, November 13th at the MN State Fairgrounds for a joy-filled 5k!
Girls on the Run teams from the Twin Cities Metro area will join us at the MN State Fairgrounds for our Fall 5k event on Sunday, November 13, 2022. The run will begin at 9:00AM for all teams and take place on the roadways within the State Fairgrounds.
Girls on the Run teams in Rochester and Duluth will host smaller regional 5k events on Saturday, November 12th. Click here for Rochester info and here for Duluth info.
Every girl needs to have a registered Running Buddy to accompany her on race day. A Running Buddy is any trusted adult 18+, who can run/walk alongside their girl and cheer her on through this day of accomplishment. A running buddy can be a parent, grandparent, uncle, teacher, family, friend, favorite babysitter - anyone 18+ your girl knows and trusts!
Our 5k is open to all! We invite all runners and walkers to join us for the 5k. Ask other family members, siblings and friends to join us also!
All Running Buddies, parents and friends running the 5k must register here. The registration fee is $30 until October 23rd, $35 Oct 24 - Nov 12th and $40 on race day, with a pay-what-you-can option. Register here! GOTR participants and coaches are automatically registered for the 5k!
Running buddies will receive their t-shirt and race bib from their team's GOTR coaches on race morning; there will be no separate packet pick-up. Upon arrival at the MN State Fairgrounds, Running Buddies and families can go directly to your team meeting location.
All teams/sites are assigned a wave color to organize teams in the GOTR Race Village. Please look for your teams color and sign when you arrive at the race site. We will call waves to the start line in 4-5 minutes intervals beginning at 9AM. For a full listing of all teams click here. Community Runners not affiliated with a GOTR team should plan to start in the Yellow wave.

Despite our best efforts to put a request in for 60 degrees and sunny, it looks like Sunday morning will be CHILLY so let's be ready! While the forecast calls for a high near 30 on Sunday, the morning temperature with the windchill will be in the teens when 5k festivities are getting started. This will be the coldest temps we've seen this Fall season. Ready for the good news? The forecast is looking dry!
Please make sure you are dressed for OUTDOOR weather. Layers, gloves, hats, scarves, all of it. Safety is the most important thing,
This is an important day for our girls and the 5K will be held rain, snow or shine. Ultimately, we invite you to make the best decision for you and your participant Sunday morning. Should outside conditions become unsafe, we will notify participants through email and social media as soon as possible, and you can also visit our Facebook page for updates.
GOTR Race Village
We are excited to relocate our GOTR Race Village INSIDE the Warner Coliseum on the State Fairgrounds! After parking in the West Como Ave lot (1690 Como Ave), our volunteers will direct you into the Coliseum where you will meet up with your team and coaches! We will also host Coach Coach-In, Registration and Volunteer Check-In inside the Coliseum. We'll host some pre-race warm-ups and cheers, and then head OUTDOORS to the 5K start line a few minutes before 9:00am.
Race Etiquette This is a non-competitive event and we encourage all runners to go their “happy pace.” To keep the course clear for all, we ask slower runners and walkers to stay to the right, leaving room for other runners to pass.
Pets are not allowed on the run course or in the start/finish areas. We have a large number of youth attending our event, for everyone's safety, please leave pets at home.
