Coaches are the heart of our program! Each season, two or more volunteer coaches inspire and guide a team through our tried-and-true curriculum. If you're ready to directly make an impact, then this role is for you.

Become a junior Coach

Junior Coaches are needed to inspire the next generation! Our Junior Coach program is for high school girls aged 16 to 18. Beyond serving as a role model to program participants, Junior Coaches work alongside Coaches, strengthening their leadership skills and gaining a sense of belonging and purpose.

Apply for our Duluth 5K Committee

Interested in stepping into event leadership with Girls on the Run? Apply to join the Girls on the Run 5K committee! This dedicated crew is key to hosting successful fall and spring Duluth 5K events, fostering a positive, inclusive and safe environment for the end-of-season 5K!

We are currently seeking committee members to join us to support the Fall 2026 and the Spring 2027 5Ks. The commitment is for one school year and includes:

  • Lead an assigned Key 5K Area (ex. volunteers, water stop, a course section, etc.) for the Fall and Spring 5Ks and a group of 5-20 community volunteers at each event
  • Attend 4-5 planning meetings for each 5K event

Each season, hundreds of 5K Volunteers bring the 5K to life, ensuring a safe and celebratory 5K morning for thousands of GOTR participants and families!
