Using an intentional curriculum that incorporates small and large group games, physical activity, interactive workshops, and individual reflection, girls learn valuable skills to help them build meaningful and positive connections with others.  In fact, 100% of our 2021 Camp GOTR caregivers said that they would recommend Camp GOTR to others!

How will GOTR prioritize saftey in the ongoing pandemic?

Programs, operations and activities have been adjusted to emphasize a smaller experience. We are committed to following updated guidance from the CDC and local government. We plan to maintain social distancing both indoors and outdoors, remain outdoors whenever possible, minimize shared materials, focus on socialization in small groups rather than large groups, and more. We will not have an off-site field trip this year and will provide a self-screening tool and careful reporting, exposure and confidentiality instructions to all involved.

My girl isn't a big runner; is this program for her? OR My girl is already a skilled runner. Is this program for her?

Yes! We are much more than a running program, and every participant can benefit from the experience of building confidence through accomplishment while participating in our rich, curriculum-based, age-appropriate, interactive lessons. Expect lots of games, talking, laughing and processing in addition to running at each practice. And know that when we say run, we mean run, walk, skip, roll or push, just as long as you are moving foward!

Who can participate?

Camp GOTR is for girls entering or exiting 3rd-5th grades in 2023 and is intended to draw participants from many areas. In fact, during our 2021 program at 7 locations, 70 schools were represented. Each site has a minimum of 20 girls and a maximum of 45 girls. We warmly welcome kids who identify as non-binary or gender expansive.

How much does Camp GOTR cost?

The standard fee for a week of Camp GOTR is $100 per girl, which includes 20+ hours of fun and instruction, a healthy snack each day, a t-shirt, bag and water bottle, and more. If a family is unable to pay the suggested amount, they can simply select the amount they are able to pay, from $0 to $100. All are welcome to participate and financial aid is automatic and confidential.

What does the program fee include?

GOTR is fully committed to access and inclusion and all girls are welcome to participate, so please make sure cost is never an issue. The actual cost per girl is $230+, but we work to subsidize each girl’s participation so that no one is asked to pay the full amount. We know that many families are struggling more than ever. We are also offering payment plans which you can select during checkout, the payment plan allows you to break your girl's program fee down into 2 or 3 installments, paid in 30 day increments. We also offer pay-what-you-can during registration, any family regardless of school or income can pay any amount that fits their needs.

How does Camp GOTR compare to regular Girls on the Run?

Camp GOTR is an intensive experience - all the fun and impact of a 10-week, 20-lesson program, squished into one week during the summer! Girls who have participated in GOTR before and girls who are brand new to Girls on the Run will enjoy the Camp GOTR activities, games and themes. Up to 45 girls can participate in one Camp GOTR location, though they’ll split into small groups of 10-15 for many activities.

Is there a way for me to sponsor a participant for a season?

Yes! As a mission-driven 501(c)3, Girls on the Run relies on generous donors in order to provide more than $400,000 in program scholarships for families in need. Click here to sponsor a participant this season.
