The Limitless Potential Luncheon 2023

Tuesday, May 2nd’s Limitless Potential Luncheon was incredible! Thank you to everyone who was able to celebrate with us this year! With support from hundreds of donors, dozens of sponsors, and a generous matching gift, together, we raised over $145,000! Those funds make an immediate local impact, ensuring more Minnesota girls and communities have access to the relationship-building, confidence-boosting power of Girls on the Run. Last Tuesday left us feeling inspired and grateful.

During this year's luncheon, we had the incredible opportunity to hear from GOTR alums, current GOTR participants, and GOTR coaches Sam and Makara. We have so many highlights we would love to share with you.

Naimah Muhammad, recipient of our 2023 Mary C. Uran Alum Scholarship presented by Apple Autos: "Standing up for myself and others is a GOTR value that will always be with me and that I will continue to practice. This is how change is made – by standing up."

Becca Richman, a GOTR alum and youth board member: "GOTR taught me self-worth, and that comparing yourself to others is frankly a waste of time." She also shared, "I learned from GOTR how to be vulnerable by taking the risk to speak my mind."

Our amazing team of Girls on the Run girls (Karate Keila, Strong Sofia, Joyful Jizzelle, Amazing Ada, Running Rylin and Tulip Tsalym): "Because of Girls on the Run, I know I can build a future for me."

Hearing directly from young people about their own experiences is powerful and many of us will carry their words with us as we continue this important work. Standing up, speaking our minds, building the future - there has never been a greater need for girls to know their own potential, and to see their community invest in them and their power.

This work is only possible thanks to outstanding teamwork. A HUGE thank you to everyone who made this day possible: our emcee Dr. Joyce Ester, Dr. Amber Manke, Coach Sam Broders and Coach Makara Fairman, our 2023 Host Committee, our Associate Board and Board of Directors, our event day volunteers, and the outstanding community that came together in such a meaningful show of support. There are no words for how much your support means to us.

Thank you to our presenting sponsor Optum for believing in the power of Minnesota girls, along with inspiration sponsors, the Minnesota Vikings, Caribou Coffee and our Alum Scholarship sponsor, Apple Autos. We're grateful for our table sponsors, including Bally Sports North, Foundation X, Horwitz, Minneapolis Foundation, Minnesota United FC, Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx, Minnesota Twins, MT Sustainability, Stonebridge Capital Advisors, Twin Cities in Motion, and Wolters Kluwer.
