Throughout 2025, Hello, Mountain Mover gave participants the confidence to be themselves, love who they are, and lift up the people around them. Watching that growth has been inspiring, and we’re thrilled to introduce our newest curriculum: Hello, Bold Heart! Launching in spring 2026, this curriculum teaches girls to boldly share what is in their hearts, use their voices even when they feel uncertain, and help others share their thoughts, ideas, and feelings.
Hello, Bold Heart is the third and final piece of our refreshed curriculum suite. Together, all three curricula—Hello, Superstar; Hello, Mountain Mover; and Hello, Bold Heart—are built on a culturally responsive foundation that centers belonging in every session, activity, and game girls experience. Our core theme of confidence is woven throughout each lesson. When girls are confident, they are more likely to challenge gender stereotypes, pursue passions, and grow into their truest selves.

Hello, Bold Heart helps participants develop life skills like clear communication, listening to understand, and resolving conflict with others. Thanks to your support, thousands of Minnesota girls will experience these influential, fun lessons in 2026. Let’s take a look at five key elements of Bold Heart that we’re especially excited to share:
1. Courage Building
One of the core aims of Hello, Bold Heart is helping each girl to activate her Heart Power. It’s the belief that what’s inside your heart matters and we can each find the courage to speak up—even and especially when it feels scary. Participants learn that it’s okay to have thoughts, ideas, and feelings that are different from their friend’s. They practice being assertive while maintaining respect and empathy for others’ thoughts, ideas, and feelings.
2. Understanding through Movement
In Lesson 5: Take a Heart Moment, girls explore how movement can allow them to better understand what they think and feel. Slowing down is one way to take a Heart Moment, and moving your body is another way to clear up what’s inside your heart. The lesson’s workout goes like this:
-
At the start of each lap, read one reflection question and consider your answer as you move.
-
When you get back to the start, share what you think with a coach or teammate—or choose to keep your answer in your head.
-
Then, pick a new question and continue moving at your own happy pace.
-
Reflect: How did it feel to take a Heart Moment by moving? How is it different from staying still? When might you try taking a Heart Moment outside of practice?
3. Opening Doors with Self-Talk
Everyone struggles with negative self-talk from time to time. Thoughts like “No one cares what I have to say” or “I’ll just embarrass myself,” can make anyone shrink back. Throughout the season, participants learn strategies for catching and changing negative self-talk. They repeatedly remind each other that what they think matters, making it easier to boldly share what’s in their heart.
4. Holding Space for Others’ Hearts
Bold Hearts listen, too. Girls learn the importance of Bold Listening, creating space that helps others feel comfortable opening the door to their heart. One tool is the ABCs of being a Bold Listener:
More than ever, young people need connection and community. Lessons in Bold Heart give girls a framework for being a good friend, peer, and classmate.
5. Bold Hearts in Action
The first half of the season focuses on building skills such as bold listening, navigating conflict, and cultivating empathy. Girls then take these new skills and direct them outward in a collaborative community impact project. Before setting out to help their communities, participants must consider the hearts of their community—what others think, feel, want, and need. This teaches them that focusing on others’ wants and needs (versus what they might want to do for a project) leads to more purposeful and impactful actions.

We’re proud and grateful to bring the life-changing lessons of Hello, Bold Heart to girls across the state. Community support makes all of this possible. Thank you to the thousands of volunteer coaches who deliver the curriculum and to the many donors and sponsors across the state who are dedicated to removing financial barriers and making Girls on the Run accessible to all girls. A special thank you to the KAHR Foundation for supporting the purchase of the new curriculum suite.
